Who We Are
We are advocates.
We are movement builders.
We are Students Demand Action
About Us
WE are the largest grassroots network of young people organizing to end gun violence in America.
We started as a pilot project in 2016 as one of the only platforms empowering students to take action on gun safety. A decade later, we are a national movement of 1,000 groups and counting.
Gun violence is the #1 killer of children and teens in America.
But we know it doesn’t have to be this way. That’s why the voices and votes of young people — America’s current and future changemakers — are always at the center of our work.
We are rewriting cultural narratives around gun violence. We are advocating for common-sense legislation. And when our lawmakers fail to listen to the overwhelming majority of Americans who support stronger gun safety laws, we are mobilizing to vote them out.
Our Approach
We Work to end gun violence through three key areas
Electoral Power
From registration to turnout, our volunteers are shaping the youth vote at every level.
Our volunteers mobilize by registering their friends and family to vote, knocking on doors for Gun Sense Candidates, supporting campaigns, and even running for office.
Legislative Advocacy
We are engaged in the legislative process — not as spectators, but as leaders.
Students advocate for gun safety laws by testifying at committee hearings, meeting with lawmakers, and organizing in their communities to take action.
Cultural Change
Young people play a crucial role in reshaping cultural narratives around gun violence.
Through rallies, public education events, and national trainings that elevate youth voices, students are building a culture where they’re seen as essential agents of change.
