EVERYTOWN CODE OF CONDUCT

Ensuring Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund and Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund (“Everytown”) is a place where every member is respected is critical to our mission.  All members of the Everytown community, including participants in Everytown activities and events and volunteers  – including Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Students Demand Action and Everytown Survivor Network volunteers – (collectively, “Volunteers”) are expected to adhere to certain principles when engaging with other Volunteers, with Everytown staff, and with others with whom they interact through their work with Everytown to ensure the respect and safety of all members of our community.

DIversity, Equity and Inclusion
Volunteers are encouraged to review Everytown’s DEI statement, found here, noting Everytown's beliefs and visions regarding DEI and anti-racism. We urge volunteers to adopt these principles in their work.

Respect
Volunteers are expected to treat one another, the community and other members of the Everytown community with respect at all times. Abuse or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. Volunteers must respect the rights, property and privacy of fellow Volunteers, Everytown staff and others with whom they interact. This includes keeping confidential information confidential, and not recording anyone without their knowledge. Volunteers must not engage in destructive, disorderly, or disrespectful behavior, including on social media, when participating in Everytown events and activities or representing Everytown.

Health, Wellbeing, and Safety
Volunteers are expected to adhere to the rules of event venues, as well as any additional guidelines provided by Everytown for safety and security, including but not limited to the requirements of the Everytown Event Registration Participation Agreement then in effect:
https://forms.everytown.org/a/everytown-event-registration-terms-participation-agreement. Volunteers must obey the law in all instances when participating in Everytown events and activities, including, but not limited to, those related to the possession of alcohol, narcotics, controlled substances, and possession or consumption of tobacco products and vaping/electronic cigarettes.

Communications and Social Media Guidance
Volunteers should not make or post commentary, content, or images that are defamatory, profane, proprietary, harassing or libelous, and should always strive to maintain the high ground in discourse, including by not making or posting inflammatory or insulting language, or personal attacks, about others. All media inquiries should be referred to press@everytown.org
