Black Students Organizing
Recognizing the disproportionate impact of gun violence on Black communities, Students Demand Action partners with Black students and those attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to amplify voices, support survivors, and drive systemic change. By equipping student leaders with the tools to advocate for lasting solutions, we aim to transform the culture surrounding gun violence and empower communities to create safer, stronger futures.
Getting involved with Students Demand Action as a Black Student Organizer is like climbing the rungs on a ladder: Each step represents empowerment and progress toward building safer communities and creating lasting change. Affinity groups are a space for Students Demand Action leaders and team members who share an identity to meet, build community, brainstorm initiatives, and work together. The Black Students Affinity Group meets each third Thursday of the month where we will talk about building the movement in our communities, how to stay engaged, and gain community within the Black Students Demand Action universe. Find out when your next affinity group meeting is by looking at our Find an Event tool.
